Plants cannot escape stressful conditions. They adapt their development to their environment. This is called developmental plasticity. We have previously shown that a conserved environmental sensor, TOR, alters global and target-specific H3K27me3 levels via Polycomb Repressive Complex 2 (PRC2), which is a developmental regulator in both animals and plants. We are now investigating how abiotic and biotic stress factors influence gene expression via PRC2.
